Sentinels – September ’21

Follow Making Tracks on Instagram, here, or my personal Instagram, here.

A series of cold fronts pushed off the Southern Ocean into lutruwita/Tasmania over this weekend, snow drifting into the suburbs of nipaluna/Hobart in the early hours of Saturday morning. This is the sentinels, caught between snow squalls and crystal crisp skies.

The Southwest National Park – where these photos were taken – is the traditional lands of the Big River people. I respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of these lands and waters on which I was able to traverse, learn, and appreciate – and pay respect to the First Nations Peoples and their elders, past, present and future.
